Dr. William Nardi
Dr. William Nardi studied medicine at Sydney University. After practicing as a medical officer at St. Vincent’s Hospital he received a DO from Sydney University and Fellowship to the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. He commenced solo practice in Lismore, NSW, in 1973. He was appointed VMO eye surgeon at Lismore Base and St Vincent’s Hospital and implemented a training post in Lismore for eye registrars on rotation from Sydney Eye Hospital. He was supervisor of registrar training for many years having trained 53 eye registrars. He was later appointed as a clinical examiner in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery by RANZCO for a period of 10 years. In 2001, he retired from Lismore Base and St Vincent’s Hospital and was in part-time associate practice with Dr Lisa Cottee for a few years during which he continued to train registrars. In 2005, he received the Meritorious Service Award from RANZCO. He continues to work as a part-time consulting Ophthalmologist at MBL Eye Surgeons’ Lismore practice.
Dr Nardi has been an active member of the community serving on the Board of Directors for Lismore Base Hospital and Northern Rivers Area Health Service. He has also been a member of Goonellabah Rotary Club for 23 years.
